Botched Suicide


A fellow decided to put his miserable life to an end.  When it was nighttime, he went to a road nearby.  He waited till he saw two headlights coming forward fast and he walked up.  He heard a roar and his head went blank.

When it quieted down, the fellow found himself still standing.  He didn't died, which fact he couldn't understand: he was quite sure that he walked right in front of the two oncoming lights and there was no time for the driver to avoid him.

What would be the explanation?  That is, divine intervention aside.  >>>
