Titanic, the real thing.

Titanic, the set in the movie.

The construction of the Titanic started in March 1909.  When finished, it weighed 46,328 tons, displacing 60,000 tons.  It was 883' long and 92.5' in the beam.  Each of its four giant funnels were large enough for two trains to drive through simultaneously.  The ship had 9 decks and stood as high as an eleven-story building.

The movie set of Titanic was built 100% to scale but only about 90% of the whole length, or 774.5', was actually constructed.  The set weighs 1,300,000 pound.  The set shows one side of the ship very well, but that's the only side the set actually has.  As result, some scenes filmed with the ship in the background had to be flipped to reflect reality.

It cost more to make Titanic the film than to build Titanic the ship: $200 million and $123 million respective.
