You are probably one of those people who can express their emotions more easily. You'll let people know how you feel with relatively little other considerations, considerations such as how you'd look to other people.

The afore-described scenario is based on experiments some psychologists conducted. They found that the participants who performed the silly task and was paid $1 for it were more likely to say that the test was "all right" or "OK." This compares to those who performed the same task but was paid $20 for their trouble - these people were more likely to report that the test was "really stupid." In other words, because the gap between $1 and the task performed was so much wider than that between $20 and the same task, the people who were paid $1 found it much harder to overcome their feeling of embarrassment; to save themselves from looking foolish, more of them chose not to tell it as it was. So in may cases lying is not a clear rational decision but an emotional response.
